Prague, Czech Republic

After Vienna we headed to Prague. In Prague we were greeted with rain and cold weather. Going into Prague a lot of our friends had told us how much they loved the city. We had a couple hiccups during our stay and don't think we gave the city a far shot. I think we would have enjoyed it more in the sunshine!

Checking out the astronomical clock in Old Town Square. On the hour the clock becomes animated and the 12 apostles appear across the top. Not super high tech but when you realize it was built in the early 1400's its pretty cool. Over all Prague has so much history and is one of the best preserved cities in Europe. It was spared from most of the destruction during WWII.
Loved the skyline with all the red roofs.

The famous Charles Bridge over the Vltava River

As you can see it was pretty rainy. We hiked up Castle Hill for a beautiful view of the city. I think this picture was taken right before it started to pour.

Stumbled on the remains for a random castle. Well it's probably not that random but I can't remember the name!
Prague Castle in the background across the river.
Hanging out in Old Town Square. Loved listing to all the street music in the city centre.

Some random vineyards we found by the Prague Castle

I loved all the architecture of the city but overall think we would have enjoyed it more if we stayed closer to the city centre and had better weather. Maybe next time!

Vienna, Austria

Our next stop was Vienna. We took an overnight train from Venice. We loved Vienna and wish we could have stayed longer. We rented an apartment through airbnb, I can't seem to find the place we stayed at though. We were really happy with the location and the place; very new, clean and modern.

We had great weather and spent a lot of time wondering around the city.

Per my friend Ryanne's recommendation we went to the Vienna Film Festival at Rathausplaz. We enjoyed sampling food from all the food stands and watching the Nutcracker. Such a great night!  City hall was the back drop for the Nutcracker.

While in Vienna we went to Schönbrunn Palace. It's an easy train ride right outside the city. We had a fun time exploring and the grounds were beautiful. We paid for the tour of the castle, the private gardens (which the free gardens were actually better...), maze and a apple strudel demonstration.

Hanging out in the maze. It was actually really fun and hard!

We had a great time in Vienna and hope to explore more of Austria someday!

Venice, Italy

After Positano we headed to Venice. I remember getting of the train and being so excited that it was cool out. Now being in England I would love some hot weather!! We heard mixed reviews about Venice being really smelly and crowded, but we both loved Venice. The city being surrounded by water makes it so unique. We stayed at here, per Rick Steve's recommendation. It wan't anything special but was clean and in a great location. My favorite part of Venice was in the evening in St. Mark's square listening to the dueling orchestra's.

 Until next time Venice!
