Oh Paris

We had a great time in Paris. Just like everyone says something about it is so romantic.

We stayed here, it was a nice upgrade to say the least. It was right by the Arc de Triomphe. We were only in Paris for 2 nights. We figured we would be making some trips back while living in London. Paris was definitely one of my favorite cities on our trip. Our first full day we went to the Louvre Museum. Adam did a bunch of research for our trip and found out you could buy the tickets in advance at a near by shop and skip the lines!

We spent a good bit of the day exploring the museum.
Then after we went and checked out the Eiffel Tower. We are pretty sure someone tried to pick pocket Adam. He ran right into him, it freaked me out. Thankfully that was the only time it happened.

Hanging out in the Tuileries Gardens. When we were in Paris the weather was perfect!
One of the nights we had dinner at Il Caveau recommendation from the blog eatliverun, if you are ever in Paris please go! Per Jenna's recommendations, I started with the French onion soup and then orderd the salmon with rice instead of vegetables for my entree. The sauce on the fish was amazing. We also had our first Bordeaux wine. The prices were very inexpensive for Paris standards as well! We will definitely be back! I know Paris has a ton of great food but overall we somehow always ended up at mediocre over priced cafes. Part of the problem could be that neither one of us speak French...

After we got gelato at L'lle Flottante. We were told it was the "best" gelato in Paris. It was definitely very good but for the price and size we found better options.

After dinner we walked along the river. Something about walking around Paris at night is so romantic! At night on the hour the Eiffel Tower lights up, so amazing!
So our camera does not take very good pictures at night but I still wanted to include them.

Our last full day our plan was to go to Versailles. We went to go by tickets like we did for the museum but were told you had to buy them 2 days in advanced. We could have gone to Versailles and bought then there but were afraid the lines would be really long. Since its a train ride out of the city. We decided to change our plans.

You can pay 2 euros a day and rent bikes for up to 30 minutes at a time for no additional charge. We road around while Adam navigated us. We were trying to find a market that I wanted to go to but had no such luck.
Then we headed to the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris. It was a beautiful day so we took our time walking around and relaxing.
The rest of the day we spent wondering around Paris.

So long for now Paris!
