South of France, Nice

We took an overnight train from Paris to Nice. It was our first time taking an overnight train and I really enjoyed it. With Adam being over 6ft he didn't find it quite as comfortable. Once we got to Nice we stayed at another airbnb, overall we were happy with the place. Very close to the beach, restaurants, Old Nice, grocery store and the port. Only thing is it didn't have air conditioning which would have been nice and the place could have been a little cleaner. Overall for the price it was a good value.

From living in Charleston, South Carolina we have gotten spoiled with beautiful sandy beaches. The beaches in Nice are beautiful...but not sandy. It was so crazy to us to find most locals laying right on the rocks with just a beach towel. We tried it for a little bit but ended up spending most of our time in the water. The water was a perfect temperature and so clear. If we every make it back we will definitely bring goggles to do some underwater exploring.

We had a great time in Nice not having much of an itinerary beside socking up the beautiful sea air and relaxing. It was nice at our rental we had a small kitchen so we were able to make some meals there. Overall the food in Nice was amazing and a great value especially after coming from Paris.

Hanging out in one of the square's having a drink.

Really enjoyed strolling along the Promenade des Anglais at night, listening to the street music and people doing roller blade tricks (it's a thing). My favorite was a guy playing a keyboard on the boardwalk, so romantic and relaxing.
One of the afternoons we hiked up Le Chateau, Castle Hill. At the top you are rewarded with beautiful views. There is also a shop and restaurant at the top.

Strolling through the Cours Saleya Flower Market

Until next time. We are off to Florence!
